Vivian L. Holley
Vivian L. Holley has been practicing family law and mediation since 1978. Ms. Holley is licensed to practice law in California as a State Bar Certified Family Law Specialist, and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1985.
She has been a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist since 1975, and has mediated and resolved over 1,500 disputes involving couples, families, estates, businesses, real property, and community groups.
Ms. Holley has been a pioneer in promoting mediation in California as a better way of resolving family and other legal disputes. She has trained and mentored other mediators since 1978, and has served on the board of many professional organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS) since 1990. She was President of ACFLS for the year 2000 term. She has been a member of the San Francisco Collaborative Law Practice Group for over ten years, and the San Francisco Bar Association Family Law Section since 1979. Ms. Holley was voted by her peers as a Northern California Super Lawyer in 2006 and 2007.
James W. Blackman
Jim Blackman has been practicing law since 1970 when he was admitted to practice law in the States of California and Louisiana. After graduating from the University of California Hastings College of the Law, Mr. Blackman joined the Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) program and was assigned to the New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation (NOLAC) where he did community organizing for a year. After he passed the Louisiana Bar, he became an attorney with NOLAC. During his tenure at NOLAC, Mr. Blackman held various positions including Managing Attorney of a satellite office and Supervising Attorney. Upon relocating to California after 13 years in New Orleans, Mr. Blackman served as Legal Counsel to the Economic Opportunity Council of San Francisco and started his own private practice. He has been an attorney with the Mediation & Law Offices of Vivian Holley for over 12 years.
